Crowne Plaza's renovated lobby

The Crowne Plaza Harbourview Xiamen has taken on a new look after its recently completed renovations. Walking into the lobby, you will be overwhelmed by its magnificence and splendor.

The changes to the lobby are the most striking. The smooth marble surfaces give the light a sparkling quality, which makes the hotel look like a palace. To both sides of the lobby are wall-mounted LCD displays, which take the place of the posters which used to serve as the information boards. The screens display the activities of the day in both Chinese and English, making the Harbourview the first hotel in Xiamen to use this technological solution. There are two smaller LCD displays near the lifts. They give guests an introduction to the facilities of the hotel.

Taking a few steps to the right, you arrive at the check-in desk. The six abstract geometric pictures on the wall behind the desk catch your eye immediately. The electronic board on the wall to the left gives the current prices for all kinds of guest rooms as well as currency exchange rates. The check-in desk is opposite the golf bar, but the advanced sound-absorbing design of the lobby means that it is always quiet and peaceful.

The four lifts are the focal point of the renovation. Beside each floor button is a note to indicate if the floor is smoking or non-smoking. The lifts will take you directly to the second floor, which includes a circular gallery overlooking the lobby. Taking the stairs to the third floor, you will find the open air swimming pool, with its western poolside lounge. Soft breezes, beautiful sunshine and fresh air make the pool a perfect place to unwind. Even under cover in the indoor lounge you can enjoy the atmosphere of fun, comfort and relaxation.

Over the past two years the hotel has invested a large amount of money in the step by step renovations. All aspects of the hotel have been overhauled, from the architecture to the detail of decoration, from the facilities to the training of staff. All of these efforts reflect the hotel's dedication to their motto: All is for the guests.
