In Edmonton, Canada, student Josh Le, 20, said he bought the denim jeans in September 2009 and wore them daily until last December. He used paper towels and napkins to dab away food spills and maintained a normal personal hygiene routine.

Nearly 99 percent of southern Sudanese voters chose to split from northern Sudan and form their own country, according to preliminary results of an independence referendum conducted this month.
