两岸书画作品联展福州开展

Fuzhou last week hosted an exhibition of calligraphic works and paintings by artists from both mainland China and Taiwan. The show featured 200 works, including nearly 40 from Taiwan. The exhibition was staged to commemorate the centennial of the Revolution of 1911.

闽民间信仰团体首次在台设办事机构
Fujian Chen Jinggu Former Residence Administrative Committee last week opened a liaison office in Taiwan’s Taoyuan county. The office, the first one of its kind in Taiwan, will provide services to Chen Jinggu adherents from both mainland China and Taiwan and facilitate cultural exchanges across the Taiwan Strait.

榕台将签温泉战略合作协议
The second Cross-Strait Hot Spring Tourism and Culture Festival opened last Sunday in Fuzhou. Fuzhou Tourism Association and Taipei Hot Spring Development Association are expected to sign a strategic partnership agreement at the festival. Jointly organized by Fujian Tourism Administration and the city of Fuzhou, the festival will run through December 31.

洋屿岛有望成闽首个旅游无人岛
State Oceanic Administration officials has approved Lianjiang county’s plan to turn its Yangyu Islet into a tourist destination. The 22-hectare islet is merely one kilometer off the coast. The islet features undisturbed subtropical scenery and is intended to become a showcase of low-carbon tourism. The project will be the first one of its kind in Fujian.

闽文化产品出口同比增长72%
Fujian’s cultural product exports surged 72 percent in the first 11 months of the year to hit $1.86 billion. The growth was 40.6 percentage points higher than that of the province’s overall foreign trade growth in the same period. Visual artworks accounted for the bulk of the exports, valued at $1.72 billion, followed by drawings and printed materials.
