厦门港主航道扩建工程开工

    Expansion of the main navigation channel of Xiamen Port kicked off on March 1. Approximately 15 million cubic meters of sediments are to be dredged and 2.7 million cubic meters of reef will be removed. Nine new light buoys will be installed and the 17 existing ones will be re-aligned. The project is slated to cost about 456 million yuan and is scheduled for completion in 2011.
