The very full fox

A very hungry fox saw some bread and meat left by a shepherd in the hollow of an oak. He crept into the hole and ate a hearty meal. When he finished, he was so full that he was unable to get out. He began to groan and lament his fate.

Another fox heard his cries. She came to the tree and asked why the fox was complaining. When she heard the answer, she said, “You will have to remain there until you lose as much weight as you ate, then you can easily escape.”
