Cell phones tied to health

       长期使用手机不仅可预防老年痴呆症,而且能逆转该病的某些影响。根据美国科研人员的研究,有动物形式老年痴呆症倾向的实验鼠,长期接触典型的手机电磁辐射后,延缓并逆转了病程。

Long-term cell phone usage may not only prevent Alzheimer’s disease, it may even reverse some of its effects, a new study was quoted as saying by media reports last Sunday.

In mice prone to an animal form of Alzheimer’s disease, long-term exposure to electromagnetic radiation typical of cell phones slowed and reversed the course of the illness, according to the study conducted by researchers from the University of South Florida in the United States.

The findings provide “striking evidence for both protective and disease-reversing effects” of long-term exposure to radiation at cell phone levels, said the researchers.    The study also suggested that even the “normal” mice showed improved memory cognition.

Alzheimer’s disease affects one in ten adults over the age of 55. Previous data has shown that every five years after the age of 60, the odds for developing Alzheimer’s disease doubles.
