Strawberry crab found off Taiwan

    草莓蟹现身南台湾海域

Taiwan Ocean University professor Ho Ping-ho discovered a startling new crab species that resembles a large strawberry off the coast of southern Taiwan. The unusual crustacean has a dramatic bright red shell covered with small white bumps. The crab resembles the species living in the areas around Hawaii, Polynesia and Mauritius, but it has a distinctive clam-shaped shell about 2.5 centimeters wide, making it distinct.
