10号下午， 中国妇女儿童博物馆在北京举行开馆仪式。作为我国第一家以妇女儿童为主题的国家级博物馆，此馆收藏文物3万余件，从不同侧面反映了各个历史时期中国妇女儿童的生存状态、地位变化及文化习俗。

    China Women and Children’s Museum, the first national museum on the social changes concerning women and children, opened to the public on January 10.

    The museum focuses on the role of women and children in Chinese society, said the All-China Women’s Federation  chairwoman Chen Zhili  at the opening ceremony. Ms. Chen, who is also the vice chairwoman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, said the museum will provide a  platform to showcase China’s culture, history and development.

    The museum is located on East Chang’an Avenue in downtown Beijing. It covers an area of 35,000 square meters and has some 30,000 exhibits.
