上周三,享誉世界的钢琴巨星郎朗在诺贝尔和平奖颁奖典礼上倾情献奏。包括奥巴马总统在内的获奖者们聆听了他的演奏。
Chinese pianist Lang Lang said he was honored to perform for Barack Obama when the U.S. president collected his Nobel Peace Prize in Oslo, Norway. The 27-year-old musician said he became“really, really excited” to play at the ceremony in Oslo City Hall.
Mr. Lang chose to play Frederic Chopin’s Etude Opus 10, No. 3 in E major before Obama’s Nobel speech because the piece was consistent with the message of the prize, moving as it does from a loud, dissonant middle to a tranquil and melodious finale.
Mr. Lang was among an array of performers at the annual Peace Prize concert that included British pop singer Natasha Bedington and American country music singer Toby Keith. Despite the winter darkness, Mr. Lang said he was excited to return to Norway, where he last performed five years ago with the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra.
