巡游世博--Germany pavilion

       德国馆开放状的建筑外形轻盈而飘逸。穿越了一条充满典型德国都市画面的“动感隧道”后，参观者们便会踏入“和谐都市”内布置奇妙的体验空间。有用灯光、色彩和声响打造的“人文花园”、展示德国设计产品的“发明档案馆”和“创新工厂”、展示各种德国发明的新型材料的“材料之园”。

    The theme of the Germany pavilion is “Balancity,” a neologism that emphasizes the importance of balancing modernization and preservation, the community and the individual, globalization and national identity. Visitors explore various places typical of a German city -- a harbor, a factory, a garden, a park and a depot. 

    The highlight of the pavilion is a cone-shaped structure housing a revolving metal sphere that is three meters in diameter and covered with LEDs that are activated by the noise and movement of spectators.

    The pavilion is hosted by virtual narrators Jens and Yan Yan, who guide visitors through the pavilion. Jens is a male mechanics student in a German university who met female Chinese architecture student Yan Yan while in China. The conceit is that Yan Yan is visiting Germany and Jens is introducing his country to her. Visitors follow the tour of the narrators as they move through the pavilion.

    Visitors can also enjoy a street dance, graffiti art and an “Open Air Jam” show lit by streetlights. Also performing are vocal percussionists who rely solely on vocalizations to create their music.
