继风琴博物馆和钢琴博物馆之后，鼓浪屿又将新增一座与音乐有关的博物馆——鼓浪屿乐器博物馆， 目前已进入布展阶段，并有望于明年7月1日正式对外开放。鼓浪屿乐器博物馆将收藏来自世界各大洲不同地域、不同民族、不同时代的乐器，并成为我国最大的乐器博物馆之一。目前，该馆已收藏200多件珍贵藏品。

    The newly-announced Gulangyu Musical Instrument Museum will be added to the range of musical institutions on the island, including the Organ Museum and the Piano Museum. 

    According to Ye Xizhi of the Gulangyu Management Committee, the design of the museum is currently being finalized. The museum is tentatively scheduled to open next July. The museum will be located on the northwest of Gulangyu and will cover 2,800 square meters.

    The museum will be housed in a 19th century building that was once the Salvation Hospital and later the Tuberculosis Hospital.　　

    The museum will include musical instruments from different regions, peoples and eras. The facility will become one of the largest instrument museums in China. Presently, the museum has collected more than 200 items.

    Exhibit areas will include a Drum World featuring both Chinese and foreign drums. Displays will include videos and literature describing the various instruments. The museum will also be equipped with audiovisual rooms showcasing music made by instruments from the museum.
