The Zheng Chenggong (Coxinga) Memorial Hall has been refitted and relaunched as part of China's first Cultural Heritage Day on June 10. New exhibits include cannons, helmets and shields used at the time of Coxinga's retaking of Taiwan, and an enormous 18m long oil painting depicting a battle with the Dutch navy. The Memorial Hall opened in 1962 to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the defeat of the Dutch on Taiwan. |
