| Chinese households all over the country will be sticking up New Year couplets on either side of their front doors to celebrate Spring Festival next week. In Quanzhou, the Senior Citizens' University put the tradition to charitable use last Saturday. Senior citizens studying calligraphy wrote out a couplet for everyone who put a donation in their charity boxes, producing nearly 1000 couplets over the course of the day. The money collected was given to impoverished households and students. |
