The first Cross-Straits Book Fair, held at the Xiamen International Conference and Exhibition Center, drew unexpected interest from locals and foreign visitors last weekend. Thick crowds filled the hall, with some buyers queueing to buy the more than 50,000 Taiwanese books brought specially for the fair.
