On July 11, in celebration of the 600th anniversary of the expeditions of Cheng Ho to the Western Ocean and to mark the first Chinese Navigation Day, the Quanzhou Government unveiled a bronze memorial honoring the expeditions of Cheng Ho. A ceremony to mark the issuance of a commemorative stamp in honor of the great event was also held.
