LED is a growing industry in Xiamen. It is well-known that, Xiamen San'an Electronics Co Ltd and Xiamen Hualian Electronics Co Ltd, as our customers, are very aggressive companies in this field, and I'm convinced that they surely have a bright future. As for MOCVD(Metal-Organic Chemical Vapor Deposition) equipment, we have occupied 70 percent of the market worldwide, and more than 70 percent in the China market.

Concerning this international exhibition on solid-state lighting, I think it is a very good opportunity for people to meet each other, communicate and exchange their ideas here in Xiamen.

First established in 1983, Aixtron is now the world′s leading manufacturer of state-of-the-art MOCVD equipment for the production of compound semiconductors. Aixtron's founding members, who still run the company today, pioneered the commercial introduction and success of VPE, MOVPE and MOCVD technologies. Since then Aixtron has played a leading role in the continuing development and success of these technologies. In particular Aixtron′s large-scale Planetary Reactor systems have lead to the worldwide acceptance of CVD technology as both an efficient and valuable production tool.

There are two important aspects, one is the International Forum on Solid-state Lighting and the other is product exhibitions and demonstration. As a national leading enterprise in this field, San'an has the nation's No 1 brand of epitaxial wafer and chip and is therefore faced with a great opportunity. Through this forum, we are expecting to meet and make more friends in this field and to look for potential markets for future development. Set up in November 2000, the company currently is the largest industrialized base of full-color and ultra-bright LED epitaxial wafers and chips in China, and is also engaged in the R&D and industrialized manufacturing in sectors such as semiconductor material for spatial applications, semiconductor lasers and active communication components, etc.

Since 2003, the company has given priority to the manufacturing of LED epitaxial wafers and chips and gradually expanded the R&D of core technology of many products including large-power chips, semiconductor lasers, and detectors.

Instrument Systems GmbH 公司专门研制和生产用于工业用途的各类光学测量设备. 目前, 世界LED领域排名前列的三家公司GE、 Philips与Osram都是他们的客户. 该公司开发了新一代的光谱仪、成像光度计和色度计, 以及第一代原商业化偏光分析仪. 该公司的光谱仪可以依照国际CIE标准准确检验LED及其发光情况, 不需要像光度计那样作颜色的标定.

China is now rising in the LED industry. We have a lot of customers in Asia; 40 percent in South Asia, to be exact. China definitely is a vast and potential market. What we expect is not a successful tomorrow, but a successful future in exploring China's market. So we are here to learn more about how the system works in China regarding LED. Xiamen will become a new base in the global LED industry since Beijing has been relatively stable in the LED field.

Based in Munich, Germany, Instrument Systems quickly established a reputation for applying innovative ideas and engineering ingenuity to the long established challenge of measuring light. Distl continued: "These measuring recommendations are recognized across the world. The task now is to expand them to cover the high-brightness and high-power LEDs that are rapidly gaining importance."
