Top fashion show

完美时尚牵引着人们的热情, 3月26日一场以"和风之汤"串联完美时尚--零距离享受美为主题的大型时尚文化抽奖活动吸引了无数都市时尚男女. 本次大型活动由"和风之汤"美容美体SPA馆协同奇绩发型, 施华洛世齐水晶、思薇雅内衣、阁楼时尚摄影等联袂演绎时尚文化的魅力.



If you were a fashion fan, you wouldn't have missed the top fashion party last Saturday at the Crowne Plaza Harbourview Xiamen.


The facial treatment show aroused the curiosity of most participants.

The top fashion party is the first one of its kind in Xiamen, sponsored by Heaven Spa (和风之汤美容美体SPA生活馆) and co-sponsored by Qiji Hair Salon(奇绩发型美容国际连锁).



Even though it was quite cold outside, more than half of the well-heeled attendees arrived at the party in advance with strong desires to acquire more information about what will be the latest fashion in town. If you thought that the fashion show is only for females, you are wrong. Quite a lot of young guys participated in the fashion party, too. Nothing could discourage their passion and yearning for the pursuit of fashion.



It was a fashion show, to introduce the participants to what is and will be in fashion in town, ranging from beauty salons, hair salons, photography to underwear and crystal adornments. The party involved nearly every aspect of the health and fashion lifestyle, it was successful and was united, orderly, and aesthetically pleasing.



The Swear underwear(思薇雅内衣) show attracted many ladies. The Qiji Hair Salon is unique, and their hairdressing designs definitely impressed everyone with their indescribable speed and handicraft skills.


A perfect Yoga performance from City Trend Fitness Center gave all participant peace in heart.

All in all, the party was pleasing both to the eye and the mind and shared with everyone the true meaning of beauty and fashion. It definitely gave all participants a further understanding of what is perfect with the combination of fashion and beauty.

Quest for the elusive tiger

"景在城中, 城在景中", 厦门以其特有的自然人文魅力让初次踏上鹭岛的荷兰小伙子Maikel Liem赞不绝口. 虎溪岩到鸿山一线, 山路平坦, 风光优美, 鸿山顶上更可一览鹭江春色, 实在是周末休闲的好去处. Maikel还打算二入宝山呢.

Being very fond of hiking I was delighted to hear that Chinese friends Jean and Aggie were planning to go to a mountain nearby Xiamen University. In The Netherlands, where I come from, there is a great lack of mountains or even hills. You could say that the country is as flat as a pancake. During my travels in Asia I've always made an effort to find a good mountain and climb it. I think it is a good way to get some fresh air and good exercise to boot.


Tranquil moment

After a short ride from Xiamen University we arrived at a most famous place in Xiamen: Tiger Brook Rock(虎溪岩). As I was expecting a serious hike I was somewhat disappointed to learn that this was a mere hill. Nevertheless, I was definitely up for putting up a little fight with gravity. At the foot of the hill we met with our tour guide Mr Happy Hong, and he commented that the "seed rock" marked the beginning of our upward journey. This particular rock is shaped like a sprouting seed and is, as most rocks and seeds tend to be, firmly tucked in the ground.

During our climb our knowledgeable tour guide provided us with a lot of information and translated the many Chinese characters which are carved in the rocks. First, we crossed a bow-shaped stone bridge called Immortal Bridge. Fortunately we didn't run into any and we proceeded to a rock with "Three Laugh" carved in it. I guess laughter is a good medicine for fear, so with that in mind we decided to venture in the Tiger's Mouth. This is basically two huge rocks stacked on top of each other and with the crack in-between it resembles a tiger's mouth. After having survived that ordeal we continued on only to be locked in a "Jar" i.e. a space enclosed by six rocks. After our narrow escape we met with a friendly white deer, which told us a story about greed.



We made our way further up the mountain, which was now Hongshan, passing many trees and we were all enjoying the quiet surroundings and fresh air. Then we beheld our final destination: the watchtower. Before reaching the tower we entered a beautiful garden complete with exotic looking trees (well at least to me) and a pond. Finally we went up the tower and what was left of my disappointed turned into great satisfaction for we were treated to a spectacular view of Xiamen, the sea and Gulangyu Island.

I guess we were lucky the weather allowed us to remain dry, but even if it had rained it would still be worthwhile to go up the mountain, because there is the possibility of witnessing a natural phenomena called: Weaving Rain(鸿山织雨). The strong winds that blow from different directions in combination with the rain can create a very special effect, which resembles a loom in action.

I must say that this has been a wonderful experience for me and I'm planning to make a return visit in the near future. So if you have the time, be sure to visit the Tiger Brook Rock. It doesn't take long to get up and the view is well worth it.
