我的厦门

You jingjing is a Xiamenese who has been to Australia for more than three years and is currently completing a Bachelor of Medical Science at the University of New South Wales in Sydney.

1.How long have you been in Xiamen?

More than 10 years.

2.What do you like most about life here?

The casual, peaceful and warm atmosphere truly attracts me. Even after going to Sydney, I still miss it very much.

3.How do you spend your spare time in Xiamen?

Having afternoon tea with friends will be the best way to kill time, and that’s what I do. I think it’s a kind of quiet entertainment.

4.If there is one thing that you could change about Xiamen, what would that be?

Endowing it with the strong background of ancient Chinese civilization. That’s the cultural background I got after I visited Shanghai. Xiamen is a young city.

5.What’s your favorite restaurant?

Sara restaurant. It has the best Tiramisu in Xiamen, I dare to say.

6.What do you like best about Xiamen?

Peaceful life. It is Xiamen that tells me that city is not always noisy, crowded and busy.

7.Compared with other big cities in China, what do you think are the differences between Xiamen and them?

Less population! I regard it as one of the best things about Xiamen.

8.What’s the last great book you read?

The hours. I read it in Sydney. It is about the life of three women who lived in three different eras. The connection between them is that they have the same thoughts about woman. It is also on video.

9. What’s your favorite quotation or piece of advice?

To be or not to be. This comes from Shakespeare. I personally believe it is to tell people that choices are yours. Everything is up to you — to be or not to be.
