Successful landing on the Mars

An image from NASA television shows control room worker looking at the screen as a panoramic polar projection image of the Mars Exploration Rover spacecraft taken from the surface of Mars after it landed successfully Jan. 3. The mission is controlled by the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in California. The rover will explore the surface of the planet. The image is a computer-generated mosaic of images which show the Rover from overhead looking down on it and was photographed from NASA television at JPL in California.
