Dear Editor,

First of all, congratulations to the success of your “Common Talk”. It’s really a great joy to see an English Newspaper belonging to Xiamen media.

And allow me to introduce ourselves. We are a group of young people work here in Synnex R&D Center of Xiamen University where English is the working language. The majority of people here have overseas background and have newly come back from abroad, including the US, UK, Canada, Australia and Denmark. They not only have a good command of English, but also master interdisciplinary knowledge, say, English language, IT, Insurance, marketing, management and Law. Most of them get a Master degree overseas. They are well aware of the western culture from a wide variety of perspectives.

Not only do we have the ability but also a strong interest to get involved with activities like yours, hoping we may be witness as well as facilitator of the growth of the “Common Talk” while benefiting from more people who have the same interests. Therefore, I’m thinking that it would be helpful if we can find feasible ways to cooperate with each other. In the early stage, we may try to write articles and bring up ideas to the Newspaper upon your demand as well as take part in your activities such as English corners to get to know each other. If that works well, and I believe it will, we may be talking about more constructive options.

If you feel interested, we may have further discussion. Looking forward to your early reply!

首先，对双语周刊的成功我们表示祝贺。能看到一份属于厦门媒体的英文报纸，我们感到由衷地高兴。

请允许我们自我介绍一下。我们是一群在厦门大学Synnex研发中心工作的年轻人，英语是我们的工作语言。大部分人都有在国外呆过的经历，并且最近才回 国，大家去过的地方包括美国、英国、加拿大、澳大利亚和丹麦。我们不仅有良好的英语技能，同时也精通各学科知识，如英语，信息技术，保险，市场营销，管理 和法律。大部分人都在国外获得了硕士学位，而且对西方文化有着方方面面的了解。

我们不仅有能力，同时也对你们的活动非常感兴趣，希望能参与其中，见证并促进双语周刊的成长，让更多有同样兴趣的人们从中受益。因此，我们在想双方是否可 以找到一些可行的合作方式。起初，我们可以按照你们的要求写些文章，为双语周刊出谋划策，也可以参与你们的活动，如英语角，以便更多了解对方。如果那样可 行，我们相信，我们也许可以讨论更多的建设性的选择。
